Here we are facing another banning of accounts in a game. But this time is Blizzard's turn to take action against the "in-game crimes". The MMORPG developer of "World of Warcraft" tries to stop the gold farming and other unauthorized actions by banning thousands of accounts.
According to a Blizzard employee's post, on the game's official message boards, Blizzard arrived at the point of banning, just in June, about 59,000 of World of Warcraft accounts. He also said that more than 22 million gold have been removed from all the realms.
Blizzard said that the users of whose accounts were banned were violating the World of Warcraft's end-user agreement. Other restrictions applied by the developer are prohibition of the use of the third-party programs, which "farm" gold and items. This is a practice that lets the characters acquire gold and equipment through self-running computer programs.
"Such behavior not only negatively impacts the economy of a realm, it diminishes the achievements of those who play legitimately. We will continue to aggressively monitor all World of Warcraft realms in order to protect the service and our players from the harmful effects of cheating", said the representative.
Blizzard asked those who cross the fields of Azeroth to report any suspicious activity to the company.
