Yesterday, April 10, Atari was understandably proud to announce that they had just released a beta adventure editor for the Witcher called D’jinni, plus a bonus adventure, Price of Neutrality. All this needs their newest patch, the 1.3. We wholeheartedly agree with releasing such things upon an unsuspecting gamer population.
These treasures don’t cost a thing and, given the success of the game itself, we are profoundly grateful that such is the case. So it would only be polite to let Adam Kiciński, CEO, CD Projekt RED to say a few words about the mod: “It’s quite a demanding tool … and it will bring loads of satisfaction to many of the fans. After all, we made The Witcher with this tool. We’ve also prepared the first official mod with a completely new adventure which will be available to download for free.” You can also take a look on www.thewitcher.com.
Yes, about that… Price of Neutrality is not just some random adventure; on the contrary, it will offer you the opportunity of getting acquainted with other witchers in the story. Back in the original game, they had put up only short and timid appearances, but now, you can step up boldly and ask them for quests or what not in a peremptory fashion. Unfortunately, it’s only about two hours long – it’s just a mod, not an expansion, after all. Even so, it’ll be mighty interesting “geralting” your way through monsters and quests in the more remote regions of Kaer Morhen.
Those who read Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels should be the most enthusiastic about this, because the adventures you make with the editor can very well cover any episodes described there or even offer some alternative situations. Yowza. You can download patch 1.3 here.
