Now, now, be a good gamer and don’t start drawling at the mouth as we talk to you about the day when this game comes out and the way that will happen. That particular day will be October 14. BUT. This being a multiplayer-only shooter, and online gameplay quality being all that matters, the guys over at Slant Six decided that there will be two paths to be taken by those of you who want to enter the open-beta phase (which happens between September 1 and 30.)
So, according to GameSpot, if you want to be ahead of others, you’ll have to pre-order the game at GameStop. Apart from having access from the very first day, you also get two beta keys for you to give to friends (come, come, surely you must have some). The other way to do this is to have been on the lookout for the June issue of Sony’s Qore, which also had a key for you. If you’re one of this service’s subscribers, then happiness has found you at long last, for you shall be able to enter the bulletproof gates of SOCOM: Confrontation’s beta starting with the 8th of September.
When the game finally comes out, it will be on traditional stores and on the PlayStation Network. The retail price will be $39.99, but there will also be a special edition for those who always find reasons to spend money on game-related material. This bonus thingy will be $59.99. Kaching.
