This game is one of the classical “gamer teasers”, by which we mean that it tends to miss its announced launch dates, driving gamers more or less insane. Now we have another of the “this time it’s for real” dates of game-birth.
Some of us remember how, back in cold, cold February, the lords of Haze told us they will relinquish it to us in May. Now, we aren’t born yesterday (most of us aren’t, anyway), so we looked on that statement with a fair amount of skepticism. After all, ORIGINALLY, the game was supposed to be on the shelves sometime in the first half of 2007. Then, in episode 2 of “Delay Saga”, they said it was going to happen in March this year. News flash: it didn’t.
Now, we’ve even got a specific day: May 23 (for Europe) and, possibly, around May 20 for the US. According to GameSpot, this is an official statement daringly made by Ubisoft. They’ve got guts, and we admire that; but you wouldn’t want to be in their shoes if they miss this date as well.
The game will come only on PS3, it’s a sci-fi first-person shooter and it’s made by Free Radical Design (the British creators of the TimeSplitters series). In case you never heard of Haze, the story revolves around a drug used evilly to make soldiers fight better for all the wrong causes. You play the role of one of this warrior junkies who strives to free himself from this addiction and turn the tables on the jerks who brought it on you. Don’t worry, it’s much complicated than that, it’s just that I don’t want spoilers tarnishing the honor of our noble website.
Happy Haze-waiting to everybody!
