The sixth expansion pack will pump more adventure into your Sims lives.
It's hard to believe that The Sims 2 is at its sixth expansion. The Sims 2 got released in 2004, and since then EA "produced" about two expansions per year. So what's new in Bon Voyage? Well, to put it all in a single word: vacations.
Bon Voyage will introduce three new "neighborhoods" that are themed for all sorts of adventures; there's a mountain and wooded area which is perfect for camping trips. Then there's an island neighborhood for those who prefer sunny vacations. And last but not least, if you have a desire for the exotic, a Far East neighborhood will introduce elements of Chinese and Japanese culture like Chinese food, dojos and other stuff.
But that is not all! The idea behind all of these neighborhoods is that your Sims can go on exploration adventures in witch they can learn all sorts of things, and they can earn achievements and collect clues to secret places that have big rewards. For example, Sims can learn the hula dance, and then re-use the dance when they return home. There will be a lot of vacation achievements that challenge you to accomplish various tasks to unlock cool stuff. And if you discover the secret places, you'll be able to adopt Bigfoot as a member of your family or you can find a powerful voodoo doll that instantly makes anyone fall in love with your
A nice thing is that now the expansion will also allow you to have the marriage ceremony anywhere. You're no longer limited to the backyard of your Sims' home, you can get married on the beach now if you want to. Your Sims can also buy vacation homes for when they get away, or you can just stay at a hotel.
