If you’re a Harry Potter fan and you like the books, and the movies, and even the games (wow, that’s quite a fan indeed, because the games aren’t that... well, you know... some of aren’t that much to look at), so, if you’re an intrepid Harry Potter fan and you were eagerly waiting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (the game), be strong, for it has been cancelled.
As a matter of fact, that’s really not so big a surprise, as Warner Bros. had already delayed the sixth chapter of the Harry Potter movie saga. Which left EA with their knickers down, so they had no reasonable choice but to follow the film’s release date: instead of November, it will all happen as late as summer 2009.
This newest Harry Potter game will try to use every ounce of platform strength to be found out there, so we’ll see it on all available gaming machines: as such, it will be on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, PSP, DS, PC, Mac and mobile gadgets. As for the actual stuff happening in the game – well, the story is the one you probably know, with young HP, battling old, non-senile Mr. V, dragging his pals, R and H, all along. In gameplay terms, we may see some changes, with some Wii-induced wand motions, potion mixing and some other stuff. Who knows, it could be the best HP game yet.
