It's of no use to keep the Rockstar Games projects away from the public eyes, when so much commotion is being generated around them. The most recent one is the development of a PSP edition of another controversial PS2 and Xbox title, called The Warriors, as the handheld appears to provide means of delivering the experience in an entirely different and supposely pleasant way. The good news indicates that both the North American and European realease date are currently scheduled for the end of the year. The bad news... are nowhere to be seen yet.
For those of you with raised eyebrows, it's good to know that The Warriors reached the top ten of most violent games of 2005, according to the Family Media Guide, and came into being as an "expansion on the story of the 1979 film, where the members of a street gang framed for murder, must traverse New York City at night, in order to return to the safety." The game fills in the gaps of the plot and expands its back story that movie audiences didn't get to see.
Sam Houser, Rockstar founder, declared:
"(...) the company was looking forward to setting the definitive bar for the brawler genre on the PSP"
