The official website of Outerlight confirmed that they started to work on a sequel to their on-line game The Ship.

Today, Outerlight, the producer of innovative online stealth-action game The Ship, announced on its Web site that a sequel of the game is underway, and that they will be working with a major international publisher for the new title.

The Ship started as a Half-Life mod, and became a full-size game that was then released in July 2006 on digital distribution service Steam. A European boxed version hit the stores in September 2006, followed by a US similar version in April 2007.

The Ship’s action takes place on a 1920 luxury liner, and gamers are given details on another player to "kill," this must be done using improvised weapons lying around the ship, and without any witnesses. Of course, someone also has your name and location, and is hunting you down just like you hunt others...

According to its website:” The Ship is primarily a multiplayer, online murder game with a unique set of game rules, The Ship is owned by the mysterious Mr. X and as one of many "lucky" recipients of a free ticket you arrive on board The Ship to find there's a catch to your luxury cruise. You are coerced into a brutal Hunt to indulge Mr. X's fantasies, under threat of death for not only yourself, but also your family. Your only chance to save yourself and your family is to play the Hunt and win.”

They don’t give any details about the new game, but they say that information about it will be available soon.
