Sony unveiled a new PlayStation 3 model for the Japanese market, which is practically identical with the one currently on sale in the US, but has a shiny, satin-silver casing.
The configuration remains the same: 40GB HDD, 2 USB ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, HDMI output with support for 1080p upscaling and no backwards compatibility.
The new SKU will arrive on March 6 and will cost 39,980 Yen ($ 375). Gamers will also be able to buy a DualShock 3 controller for 5500 Yen ($ 51).
