The March cover of computer&video games magazine GameInformer has finally lifted the veil from one of the most mysterious first-person shooters that are currently in development.

GearBox Software's Aliens-inspired FPS, unveiled last year, will try to revive the gritty and frightening atmosphere of the previous movies sometimes next year, when the game will launch for PCs, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

GameInformer reveals that the game will be called Aliens: Colonial Marines and that it'll be a squad-based FPS. No other details have transpired yet but we're still waiting for the March issue of the revue to come out.

For those of you who are not familiar with the subject, SEGA has high bets on the Aliens franchise, with an RPG coming also from Obsidian (KOTOR II, Never Winter Nights 2).
