If there’s going to be such a thing as Max Payne 3 (the game, of course, forget Marky Mark for a minute, will you?), then it seems that Rockstar will make it happen. At least, that’s what the rumor says – the rumor that comes with the latest issue of EGM, that is.
Max Payne’s original daddy, Remedy Entertainment, is apparently quite busy with some sort of Alan Wake-ish stuff. So they don’t have time for poor old neglected Mr. Payne right now. That’s why the delicious yoke of game developing duty falls on Rockstar’s suitably massive shoulders. According to CVG, EGM says that the "noir shooter will be handled by the same internal Rockstar team that created The Warriors". So there you go.
And, to muddle things even further – rumorwise - the same EGM says that the same developer is working on a PS3 exclusive yet to be announced. And there’s also that thing Sony said some time ago, that ”Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that". According to Rumor All-Mighty, this just happens to be it.
