Famous Spanish football club Real Madrid, which during the course of the recent years has "lent" some of its "galactic players" to the covers of FIFA or ProEvolution Soccer, decided it's time to abandon its... gaming virginity and "scored" a contract with Spanish company Virgin Play.
According to Gameindustry.biz, the contract includes the development of "three properties running across gaming consoles, online and mobile". The multi-platform games will work for PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 and the PC.
Apparently the club is trying to become even more famous, targeting a population of young gamers that might later become a selection base for new footballers with fat salaries. Oh, and speaking of money: a commercial convergence firm called Syndicateworks, with offices in London and Stockholm, has been hired to deal with the in-game advertisements "and to manage the identification and securing of brand partners for all three properties."
The games are slated for a 2008 debut, with no official confirmation of the price or of the territory where they will be launched (Europe is definitely on the list, since Real Madrid is the most famous football club there).
