After bringing the LOST series in HD on Xbox Live and after enticing gamers with Xbox oldies like Ninja Gaiden Black, Sid Meier's Pirates! and Black on Xbox Live Marketplace, Microsoft cooked up another surprise for casual gamers addicted to Xbox Live Arcade.
Officially announced by Void Star Creations during last year's E3, Poker Smash is "an action-packed puzzle game with a poker twist". The twist comes first of all from the graphics, which is simply jaw-dropping at 720p, but the gameplay is even more attractive, prompting the Official Xbox Magazine and Team Xbox to award the game with 9/10 and to call it "one of the best action brain-busters in ages."
Poker Smash has no less than 7 game modes including action, timed, puzzle levels (55 of them), practice, custom playlist, split screen head-to-head, and multiplayer tournaments. The latter have two components: you can either play with a fellow gamer offline (split screen) or on Xbox Live.
In addition to the traditional leaderboards, Poker Smash features rivalry-tracking and even movie recording with shared playback.
The game costs 800 Microsoft points and has thirteen new original soundtracks for background play.
