Yes, ladies and gents. We bear witness to a birth of an even more impressive sub-race than the half-elves or the draconians. Thought to be an impossible match, coming from two opposite worlds, the laptop and the PS3 have merged into a new and terrible creature. How could such a thing come to pass?
This unholy union would have remained what it was until now (a twisted and morbid fantasy), if it wasn’t for Ben Heck. “What’s a Ben Heck?” you will ask. Well, we don’t know exactly what he is, probably a powerful cybermancer, to have been able to perform such terrible acts of “geekerish” magic. But we do know who he is: Benjamin Heckendorn. And, as gizmodo.com puts it, he “is known to most of the geek world as a console modding god”. He hasn’t announced officially this latest project of his yet, but it seems to follow the same lines as the Xbox 306 Elite laptop. See pictures here.
Yes, he’s done it before. It’s in his blood. They tried to stop him, but he escaped the sanitarium (probably aided by his Igor-like servant). While in hiding, it seems he’s put together a whole series of 360 laptops, but the Xbox 360 Elite was the first based on the 65 nm chipset, plus it features a 120 GB hard drive. And the best thing about it is its 17" screen, 1280×720 resolution and 720p picture.
I don’t know if you realize it, but this PS3 laptop thing is great news, especially for older gamers. I mean, some of them might be a little ashamed to play on their PSP on a train, for instance, while the guy on the opposite seat looks at some arcane charts and statistics on his oh-so-business-like laptop. Now you can take out your “laptop” and play, let’s say, CoD 4, with none the wiser. Of course, your fellow traveler might be intrigued by the sudden hand movements, grimaces and victorious grins you perform while consulting your oh-so-business-like charts.
