Since we've recently mentioned Project Origin among the most craved games this year, the monolithic team behind the initial F.E.A.R. thought it would be nice to return the favor and unleashed some new in-game awesomeness.
For those who don't know this yet, Monolith is now under the protective wing of Warner Games, and following the break-up with Sierra (the publisher for F.E.A.R.) they are not allowed to use that name anymore, but they still own the right to develop a game based on their original IP.
Last year the studio that also brought us No One Lives Forever organized a poll at www.nameyourfear.com, and fans of the game eventually picked up Project Origin as the official name for... the real F.E.A.R. 2. Indeed, Sierra has come up with two F.E.A.R. continuations (the Extraction Point expansion in 2006 and the F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate pseudo-sequel last fall), but those were built by TimeGates Studios, with the same old and tired Lithtech engine that powered F.E.A.R..
This year Project Origin should come out for all major platforms (PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), and here are some new in-game images.
John Mulkey, in charge of Alma's paranormal revenge at Monolith, promised us that the game will feature better AI and more visual density. From those screens, you can pretty much bet that the visual density means more blood and scattered limbs...
