NC Soft Europe has signed three major deals with three major Russian companies, in order to bring NC Soft's MMOs closer to their Russian-speaking audience.
NCE, located in Brighton, England, struck deals with YANDEX, NOVIY DISK and NETVILLE, Russia's top games distributors for the retail and online markets. The British subsidiary gave NOVIY DISK distribution rights for the boxed edition of sci-fi MMO Tabula Rasa. The latter will be packaged under the premium 'ND Games' brand and will contain localized instructions in Russian. It will also arrive in two editions: Standard and Collectors' Edition.
YANDEX and NETVILLE were given 'digital distribution' rights for the Russian territory, with YANDEX grabbing Richard Gariott's Tabula Rasa, Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne- The Kamael and Game Time Card codes (15, 30 and 60 days) for all subscription based titles. NETVILLE got the "leftovers", meaning two MMOs: City of Villains/City of Heros and the 5 million seller Guild Wars (with its three expansion packs). All Guild Wars titles have been localized into Russian and include a dedicated Russian district for players.
"We are delighted to be working with such respected and commercially successful partners, as Noviy Disk, Netville and Yandex," stated Max Brown, Sales and Operations Director of NCsoft Europe. "Through our joint cooperation, NCsoft titles are available to customers across the entire country. Our partnerships ensure that we can meet our player’s needs and prepare them for our titles this year and beyond."NOVIY DISK has been founded in 1997 and until now has worked with Eidos, Midway, Activision, Deep Silver, 10Tacle, THQ, Buena Vista Games, Her Interactive, Empire Interactive, Irrational Games, Sunflowers, Ubisoft, ITE, and other companies representing their products in the Russian-speaking markets.
