If you are one of those Sims fans, that is also an animal lover, you're gonna love this. Sims 2 will introduce pets to the players. And they're not talking about some decorative fish bowl or a hamster in its wheel. Since the Sims community has been asking for dogs and cats to be included in the life simulator, the developer has finally obliged to them.
The Sims 2 Pets has been officially announced, after being shown at this year's E3. There, a promotional clip of the game was displayed at EA's booth. At that time there were some speculations that the game would be an expansion for The Sims 2 PC edition, a stand-alone console game, a booster pack, or even its own spin-off.
But these questions found their answer today. Sims 2 Pets will be available on PC as an expansion pack. The news is that the game will also be going for a walk on consoles like the PlayStation 2, GameCube, PlayStation Portable, DS, and Game Boy Advance. There are no plans yet for the game to be released as an Xbox edition. All versions will hit the stores on October 17. The only exception will be the edition for the PSP version, which will be out in November.
Now, the players will be responsible with their pets exactly like in real life. They have to train the pet, otherwise the four-legged will mess up the house. Cats will claw up furniture and dogs... just make the mess in the house. Editions of Sims 2 Pets will also carry unique features. The PC version will let players create designer breeds and pets.
