Game Factory Interactive's previously announced plans of global consolidation have long since been put into motion, and the first results are already here. In their quest to combine all of GFI's studios under one brand, today they revealed a new name for their Russian studio MiST land - South (Jagged Alliance 3D, Warfare, ALFA Antiterror) - you know, the ones that weren't worthy of creating the Disciples III sequel. Well, from now on, the developer will be known as GFI Russia, as decided by a majority of... nope, not company directors, but ordinary gamers.
The new name was determined by a poll carried out on the Absolute Games portal - a leading online source for gaming information in Russia. Competing with such alternatives as GFI RUS, GFI Moscow, GFI MSK, GFI Center and GFI Greentown, GFI Russia has been selected by a majority of 31,5%. GFI also points out that "it is an unprecedented event in the world's practice when video games' audience was entrusted to select a new name for a company". Marvelous! What's next, leave ordinary gamers to come up with a name for Nintendo's next console? (at least it can't be any crazier than "Wii"... can it?).
The announcement goes on to say that GFI Russia will proceed with the development of Jagged Alliance 3D, Warfare and Gluk'Oza: Action!. And speaking of which, today we also added a few new screenshots in our Jagged Alliance 3D gallery. We dare you enjoy them!
