Game News - Legend: Legacy of the Dragons available for Chinese and German gamers

Astrum Online Entertainment, the leading player in the Russian interactive entertainment market, has made a strategic breakthrough in development of its business: one of the holding leading game projects – MMORPG “Legend: Legacy of the Dragons” – was launched in national online games markets of China and Germany in the end of October’ 2008. The launches of official Chinese (http://lz.woniu.com/) and German (http://www.warofdragons.de/) game sites were the actual beginning of active business operations of Astrum Online in these markets.

The browser based online game “Legend: Legacy of the Dragons” launch in the foreign markets was the result of Astrum Online Entertainment holding strategic line to gain and support its status of a global company and driving of Russian game projects up to international level. It is just a year after foundation of the holding they achieved the first results in accordance with previously set tasks.

The Chinese launch of the Russian web-based MMORPG “Legend: Legacy of the Dragons” was made with the assistance of Snail Game, one of the leaders in 3D online game operating and development in China. It is the first but not the last joint project of the companies.

It was the first instance of the release of such an expansive web game product in China. It is unprecedented and will also mark the first release of a Russian web-based MMO game in the Asian market.

Vladimir Nikolsky, CEO of Astrum Online Entertainment holding, delivered a speech to members of the Chinese media at the press conference in Shanghai. He praised the perspectives of MMO games in the Chinese online entertainment segment and expressed his confidence in further successful cooperation between Astrum Online Entertainment and Snail Game, having underlined that it was the first instance of such a large-scale collaboration of Russian and Chinese online publishers.

According to the expert estimates of Shi Hai, the president of Snail Games, Snail Game's browser-based online games market share in China will reach 70% by the end of 2009. A half of the Snail Games’ market share will be obtained by MMORPG “Legend: Legacy of the Dragons” and other games of the Russian holding company.
