It's interesting how Sony chose to equip its Playstation 3 with a tilt-sensitive controller in a period when Nintendo's Revolution / Wii popularity was booming. Coincidence or not, it matters less. What matters is that the move caught the developers of PS3 games a bit offguard, as many had planned their games with a regular control scheme in mind, so the Factor 5 announcement that Lair will also support the tilt feature makes it only the second game, besides Warhawk, that takes advantage of this new feature. However, the developers stated that the player can still opt for a "traditional" control scheme.
Lair's main theme will be dragons, and trailers show the legendary creatures engage in ferocious battle in mid-air, armoured knights riding the beasts and even some ground action, but it is unclear at the moment how the player will be involved in ground battles. The graphics look stunning and take full advantage of PS3's hardware capabilities, the game concept seems interesting, so Lair will probabily be one of the stars of the Tokio Game Show this year.
We wish Factor 5 and their game all the luck, but maybe Sony should be a bit concerned by the lack of original games (both Lair and Warhawk are centered around flying) that would really take advantage of their new controller, especially since their console will come out after Nintendo's Wii, and since the PS3 controller shares many of the wiimote's features, failure to rise at Nintendo's level is a serious danger.
