Duke Nukem Forever's existence (in any form you like) was a bitter one. Being so long ago, one of gaming's premiere franchises, it's a fact that 3D Realms failed to come up with a proper sequel, so they've been struggling to recover ever since. As things were bound to get back on track, Shacknews received word about several key members of the development team that have left the company for other jobs (obvioulsy, in the same field).
3D Realms webmaster Joe Siegler said over the forums:
"It's internal business - all employee departures and comings have always been that way. This is nothing new. People have left before, IT IS THE NATURE OF THIS BUSINESS. It's the way it goes."
"There's honestly nothing to be concerned about. People leave. People come. There's staff on the project you don't know about. You know some, you don't know most," he continued. "There's truly nothing to worry about. I know from your end it would seem bad, and if I wasn't still working here and knew more, I'd probably feel the same way."
Scott Alden, Will Bate, Brian Cozzens, Kyle Davis, Andy Hanson, Keith Schuler, and Charlie Wiederhold have left, according to the website's sources. Cozzens, Davis, Schuler, and Wiederhold have apparently landed at Gearbox, with Wiederhold's move having already been previously known.
