The "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" sex scandal called "Hot Coofee", finally ended and there are no fines levied. That makes Take-Two "extremely pleased".
All yearlong the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) made its investigations concerning the Take-Two Interactive. Today the scandal is finally and formally over. This is what the publisher announced today: "the commision unanimously approved a settlement outlined".
Last year the commision discovered a hidden sex minigame in Take-Two's "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas". The FTC launched an investigation into the company's advertising practices surrounding the game, but this only after the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) rerated the game AO for Adults Only. Take-Two recalled all copies of San Andreas and they released an edited later a new version with the rating of M for Mature.
"We recognize the importance of maintaining public confidence in the Entertainment Software Rating Board rating system and helping the ESRB educate parents and consumers about the rating system. We look forward to putting this behind us and focusing on what we do best--creating video games", Eibler said.
For now, the company got away easy, but FTC did warn the publisher that if it violates the terms of its agreement in the future, that would cost the comany $11,000 per violation.
