The increasely annoying situation of rejected games, is escalated in Germany, now that following the recent example set by Capcom's Dead Rising, another anticipated title will miss its promised "landing". Indeed, Gears of War was rejected because it missed a rating provided by the USK ratings board. This translates into the impossibility to legally advertise the game and decorate the shelves with a nice and shiny retail box.
Given the current ratings decision, Microsoft "set the wheels into motion", by creating a version that could acquire a rating, but unfortunately, it seems that the "project" was incompatible with other versions released all over the world, when played on Xbox Live. That't the reason for the next (logical?) decision of not releasing the game in Germany. Of course, this is not the end of the action title's journey, as Germans will most likely import Gears of War from Austria, or the UK.
