We didn't waste too much time on last month's puny E3, since the Leipzig Games Convention is coming in just a few weeks anyway, and by now it's pretty much the largest gaming show in the West - even bigger than Tokyo Games Show actually, should the organizers' predictions come true. They expect around 200,000 visitors at GC 2007, comparing to "just" 180,000 expected at TGS 2007.
The Leipzig convention will open its doors for the public at large between August 23-26, however news from the event should start flooding us from August 22, as representatives of the media will have an extra day to try out all the products in peace and quiet.
Also ahead of the public show, the GC Developers Conference (GCDC) will take place between August 20-22. Some of the notable speakers who previously announced their attendance include Peter Molyneux from Lionhead and Mark Rein from Epic, and today we find out that Tim Schafer will also give a keynote speech at the Leipzig GCDC. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the guy is one of the old-school LucasArts veterans (Full Throttle, Monkey Island, tra-la-la...), who became famous once again with his new studio Double Fine Productions' debut game, Psychonauts.
But getting back to the public GC, the actual show will be doubled by live concerts and other open-air events, in the "GC Freestyle" summer festival. If any of you are planning to go there, you can find more details on the official website. And now, let there be line-ups, new titles and other stuff that's already being announced by attending companies...
