Konami has taken the wraps off a pair of portable titles, even if the gaming press is busy trying to get its hands on the publisher's lineup of upcoming games.
The PlayStation Portable owners can expect this fall to take their Pocket Racers for a "dark yet zany racing game". The new Pocket Racers puts the gamers in the role of a party guest who has been turned into a tiny car by "an evil nemesis" and which is forced to race against fellow partygoers. The races will take place on 15 different racing tracks, while the players can choose from 16 playable vehicles, from sports cars to off-roaders. The vechicles can be powered with nitro boosts and homing missiles.
Konami said that the games will have an extensive single-player experience with multiple modes of play. Plus the gamers will be able to play against each other wirelessly in races and minigames. The system can take up to four players.
Next to come is a sequel to the DS survival adventure game Lost in Blue. Scheduled to be released at the beginning of the next year, the new "remix" will be called "Lost in Blue 2". The story of the new game is the same like in the first one and it focus on a man and a woman who find themselves on an island with no others in sight. They have to survive by foraging for food, fight wild animals and using weapons that have been found or fashioned by the player, then make use of their own unique skills. And added to the game's subject, are the natural disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
Pocket Racers has an E rating for Everyone, while Lost in Blue 2 has none.
