As all gamerdom knows, there’s still no such thing as a certain, mathematically precise or at least romantically imprecise release date for Duke Nukem Forever. But, we do have another set of fancy words coming from the general direction of 3D Realms. So, let’s stoop to their level of fanciness and see what’s the latest news related to this illusive creature of the gaming world. (At least there will be Duke Nukem 3D on Xbox Live soon enough and some of the thirst will be quenched.)
George Broussard, the king of the Realms known as 3D, had these words of gaming wisdom to impart, while talking to TeamXbox: "It's going really well. [He’s talking about Duke Nukem Forever. No, really, he is.] There are several hours of fairly polished game to play. We're actively testing parts of the game and getting feedback from play testers and things are coming together." Well, at least it’s something – not something touchable, in numbers (“several hours”), and it’s corporatish (“we’re actively testing” – all these years, they were probably doing it passively), but it’s better than nothing. Anyway, joking about Duke Nukem Forever isn’t as fun as it used to be. Let us end this with another hopeful quote from Mr. Broussard:
"It's fun, it's in focus, we know what bits are fun and which are not, and it's just a matter of time now. I've probably never been as happy or excited about the game as I am these days." (He’s really talking about Duke Nukem Forever. Honest.)
