Merscom recently announced that the popular logic game Sudoku will land on Xbox Live Arcade in the second quarter of 2008, and that the game will include a multiplayer component too.
Dubbed Buku Sudoku, the game will make use of both XBLA and XBox 360's innovative features to transform the usual Sudoku experience into something unique. For instance, the title will put the console's high-definition capabilities to good use (making the grid more visible) and will endow X60's triggers and thumbsticks with new powers (players will use the controller almost like a...pencil).
Since we're talking about an online service (XBLA), Buku Sudoku will also allow for cooperative and competitive multiplayer sessions. All wrapped up in a cohesive graphical style that will most probably manage to offer something enticing and new for all users. Multiple puzzle sizes, difficulties, control schemes, and tutorials will be available. "We are really excited about the release of Buku Sudoku, as it takes the proven and popular gameplay of Sudoku to a new level. It will appeal not only to Sudoku fans but anyone who loves a great gameplay experience," said Kirk Owen, CEO at Merscom. "Given the popularity of Sudoku on other platforms and the quality of this game, we expect Buku Sudoku to be a phenomenal hit."
