After recently announcing that Mass Effect is no longer an Xbox 360-exclusive, Electronic Arts dropped another BioWare-related bomb: the RPG masterminds behind Jade Empire are back to the drawing board for KOTOR 3!
Yes ladies, gentlemen, children and Jedi wannabes, you read right, KOTOR 3 is coming! An internal note from Electronic Arts, initially for investors' eyes only, has recently managed to sneak past EA's Army of Two and began flaming spirits all over the Web with its precious content.
The famous note (which you can find here) reveals EA's list of upcoming games and their developers. Besides titles that we already know of (Mirror's Edge from Digital Illusions, Marcenaries 2 from BioWare's "brother" Pandemic or EA Maxis' Spore) there's a clear indication there that rumors about KOTOR 3 are true and that BioWare is indeed working at the craved Star Wars sequel!
Moreover, BioWare's talent is also put to good use (we hope...) for an upcoming and yet unnamed MMO. Since work at the new MMO and at KOTOR 3 are listed separately, we should unfortunately assume that a Knights of the Old Republic MMO is out of the question... Besides these two, BioWare (which is now in EA's property) is also crafting lines of code for Dragon Age and Mass Effect (probably the PC version).
Ah, well, I guess another KOTOR coming from its original creators is good enough news, and I find it even more enticing that BioWare plunged into the MMO pool, even if it's NOT the KOTOR MMO pool...
And hey, where's my Jade Empire II, huh?
