"Blitz: The League" is Midway's unlicensed football game that is all about the unpleasant side of professional football: drugs, egos, and career-ending hits. The cover of the last year edition was Lawrence Taylor - an admitted cocaine abuser who has struggled with drug addiction.
Now, for the new series that will be released on PSP and Xbox 360, Midway is once again choosing Taylor as the cover athlete, only this time he'll be joined by a former pro, the four-time Super Bowl champion, Bill Romanowski. Romanowski played for the San Francisco 49ers, Philladelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, and Oakland Raiders over his 16-year NFL career as a linebacker. He also admitted that he did use steroids and human growth hormone for the last two years of his career.
In game, Romanowski will portray the Baltimore Bearcats' franchise player and play a pivotal role in the story, both on and off the field.
The game is scheduled for release in October for Xbox 360 and in November for the PSP. There is also annouced a Wii version of the game.
