Battlestar Galactica debut in 2003 was welcomed with skepticism by many, critics and viewers. That was probably because it was a remake of a 1970-'80s series. But Battlestar Galactica proved the naysayers wrong.
So, in 2004, the show became a full-time series. In March it ended its most recent season, the second, which was actually one of the more shocking cliffhangers in sci-fi television history. With this kind of "attitude" the show won one of this year's Peabody Awards, which is the prestigious honor for excellence in broadcasting which it shared with CNN, NBC Nightly News, and South Park. The third season of Battlestar Galactica is due to air from October.
Now the show is ready to entertain the gamers too. The game will be called "The Story So Far" and it will be first released on Xbox Live. Even if both of the Battlestar Galactica seasons are already available on iTunes, the special will be the "first longform program ever to be offered" on Xbox Live.
There is not date release or price on the game. But though given its promotional nature, it will be probably free. What concern us is that the Xbox Live announcement had no information about the Battlestar Galactica role-playing game - which Moore mentioned when he spoke at the 2006 Game Developers Conference.
