The latest news posted on Steam announcer, speak about some intersting plans for the all-time favourite multiplayer shooter. It seems that the producers "feared" that the game, that started as a mod, could become nothing more than another exponent of extreme marketing labeled products. So, the lack of alternatives (which by the way, smells rather peculiar) has just promoted this course of action to priority level number one.
The debut is marked by the announcement of a beta test for the upcoming free-market version of Counter-Strike: Source, as well as a beta of the new Counter-Strike weapons market, which will start next week. The betas are of course intended to provide some real-world data to start the market going, along with the certainty that eventual issues get fixed before the product is shared with the entire community. We will see what the future has is store for us.
