More than a year after parting ways with publisher Bad Brain (the same guys who won't be bringing us Sam & Max 2 after all), the Autumn Moon Entertainment team has finally inked a deal with a new publisher, to produce their debut Adventure game - A Vampyre Story. That is, a relative "debut" for their new studio, because the team itself is known to have worked on LucasArts' legendary quests from the past, such as the Monkey Island series, Sam n Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango and The Dig.
With such impressive achievements under their belt, Autumn Moon will hopefully bring us another "instant classic" with A Vampyre Story, which fans of the genre should definitely keep a keen eye on. There are no hints on the game's website as to who the mystery publisher might be, but more details were promised for the coming weeks. For now, the AVS team is swinging into high gear finishing up pre-production and then starting on full production.
"From a development staff made wholly of former LucasArts adventure gaming gurus comes this frightful and fantastical point-and-click adventure game. Combining 3D animation and 2D designs, the game follows the opera starlett, Mona, a woman kidnapped by Baron Shrowdy Von Kiefer and slowly becoming a creature of the night after coming under the vampire's spell. As she seeks to venture away from his gothic island-set castle, she'll have to learn to control her vampyric powers of turning into a bat, hypnotizing people, turning into vapor, and drinking blood from humans. Her friendly bat acquaintance, Froderick, will join her on her quest." To find out (plenty) more about A Vampyre Story, we have an interview with Bill Tiller from a couple of years ago, conducted by yours truly for the Romanian PC Games magazine. Also, there's a new screenshot in our gallery now, showing a gypsy wagon and Mona (the main character) warming her cold blood near a fire, probably drooling over what looks like a spooky goulash. Mmm... slurp-slurp!
