David Perry, the founder of Shiny Entertainment, left us with mixed feelings after leaving his former studio. With classics like Earthworm Jim, MDK and Sacrifice, followed in later years by Enter the Matrix and The Matrix: Path of Neo, it's hard to predict what Dave is capable of nowdays - especially in terms of online gaming. Nevertheless, the guy is back in business, and he's here to stay. As announced this week, he is currently working on 2Moons, a project he says will "probably be the most violent MMO on the market".
Actually, "working" may be a bit of an overstatement, as Dave will only be acting as the game's director. The real work is being done by Korean developer GameHi, who will be adapting their Dekaron MMORPG for the Western market, under the supervision of David Perry and some of his "key - top secret - consultants".
The best thing about 2Moons is that it will be a free MMO, relying solely on advertising and microtransactions to make money. Players will even be able to turn off in-game advertising, at the expense of a slower leveling speed, for instance. A closed beta subsciption form is already available on the 2Moons website, for those wishing to see what it's all about, and the first screenshot is waiting for you in our new 2Moons gallery.
2Moons will be published under the reborn Acclaim label, bearing the tagline: "No mercy for the weak, no pity for the dying, no tears for the slain". A final release date has yet to be announced.
