PuPu

Look for UFOs to pass by during a battle in the following places (you must have Diablos' "Enc-None"):

1. Outside Winhill Town
2. Mandy Beach, northeast of Timber
3. Heath Peninsula, east of Trabia Garden
4. Kashkabald Desert.

After sighting all four, fly the Ragnarok to the rocky cliffs above the Chocobo Shrine. Encounter a UFO and defeat it. Then, head to the crater where Balamb Garden used to be. You will encounter a PuPu. Feed him five elixirs and you will be rewarded. Its only a level 5 card, but is definitely the hardest card to find.

Hints, Tips & Tricks

How feat Ultimecia

First Ultimecia will choose the party that will fight her, you must have a favorite party that may be at level 100 so don't worry because when the weakers are gone the strongests come in. For make it easily you must have Bahamut's card and with card mod ability make it 100 megalixir that will give you full health to all your party, You must also have the Lionheart for Squall, junction 100 ultimas to str to Suall, when you do that every hit that you will do with the Lionhert will damage 9999 to Ultimecia. Cast aura on Squall and keep making his limit break and keep rechaging your party with megalixirs. Ultimecia will die easily

Get Cactuar GF

First before you try to get Cactuar you should be around level 60 and have the Levithian GF. You have to go to Cactuar Island which is in the southeast corner of the Esthar continent. You can distinguish it because of the big green Catuar that keeps appearing and disappearing on the island, this is the Jumbo Cactuar that you have to battle. You should equip the Revive and Recover Abilities on two different people because the Jumbo Cactuar uses the 10,000 needles ability which can wipe out a character in a single shot. The third person should be able to cast Life or Full Life spells. Also the Jumbo Cactuar is weak against water so use Levithian. The Battle is all about patience because you have to keep reviving your characters and attacking at the same time plus the Jumbo Cactuar has 60,000 HP. Have one character act as a medic while the other two attack. After attacking the Jumbo Cactuar for a while a little sign will appear saying that the Jumbo Cactuar is hesitating. Stop all your attacks at this point because he may runaway. Just use Levithian and your strongest attacks to finish him off before you! Stop. After you beat him you got the Cactuar GF. This is one of the best GFs in the game. When it's at level 100 he can do 10,000 points of damage and you will never have to boost, ever!

The easiest way to beat ANY boss/enemy!

Have Selphie in your team and make sure she has low health. Then in a battle, activate her Limit Break, but then open the console's disk drive while doing this. The battle should freeze but the choices for Selphie should still be working. Scroll through untill you highlight "The End" Press X and then close the disk drive. The battle should unfreeze and then Selphie should use her limit break. Battle over! NB: This even works with the Omega Weapon and Ultimecia, but I would advise that you have Heros/Holy War Trials/Holy Wars for guaranteed victory.

There is a card in final fantasy 8 that is not mentioned on this site. The PuPu card. It sounds silly but its true. If u look at your cards screen then there will be a gap at the level 5 monster cards. This is because the pupu card is the rarest and hardest to find. To find this card you must have the encounternone ability which you learn from GF Diablos and the Ragnarok. THen fly the ragnarok to Winhill and just outside it try and get a battle using the encnone ability. Shortly you should have a battle but not an ordinary one. In this battle you will see a u.f.o flying around carrying a cow. This is the first u.f.o sighting. After this do the same at: Heath Peninsula, Island closest to Heaven, and the north snow fields. After the 4 sightings fly to balamb garden(the crater where it was) and get a battle. You should fight a little geen monster who asks for 5 potions. Give them to him and he will reward you with the pupu card. This is very valuable. (sent by magani)

Get to level 43 or higher and draw or refine an item into 100 Curaga. Do not level up. Instead Junction 100 Curaga to HP. If you are not at 9999 HP, put on HP +20%, HP +40%, or HP +80 %.

Early health

When you go to the Tomb of the Unknown King, get Brothers and their Cards. Use Quetzacoatl's Card Mod ability on Sacred's Card to get 100 Dino Bones. Then use Diablos' TimeMag Refine ability to make 100 Quakes for each character. All of your characters should have 2000+ health at around level 15.

Drawing magic

At the start of the game, draw all the low level magic you want since you can refine it with Mid-Mag-Rf (a GF ability). However, since you get all the high level magic early, do not draw it from enemies (Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, Triple, or Curaga). If you do and do not use up all of the mid level magic, you will not have enough room towards the end of the game to draw Flare, Ultima, Holy, or any other strong magic. When you receive Alexander from Sorcoress Edea after the Galbadian Garden/Balamb Garden battle (you must draw it from her), you will be able to make him learn High-Mag-Rf, which will let you refine mid to high level magic. The mid level magic is fine to this point, since you will get other magic such as Tornado, Meltdown, Reflect, and Quake to junction to your stats before then.

More HP

Have magic Full-Life, learn GF HP-j and HP +80%. Equip Full-Life on HP Magic and have Ability HP +80% equipped.

Ending scene

Allow the credits to complete after the final FMV sequence to see Squall and Rinoa.

Saving money

This trick will save 50,000 Gil. When Balamb is under Galbadian control, go to Zell's room and save the game. Go to the Harbor. You will find a Tabloid Reporter hiding behind military vehicles. Pay him for all the information he has then reset the game. You will have all the information, and still have your money.

Easy experience

Equip one character with Auto-Haste, Initiative, and Junction 100 Pain spells to their attack. They will go first, and blind/poison/silence the target monster (this works well against Behemoths). Have another character cast Zombie on the helpless monster, and have the third character use the Revive ability on the Zombied monster. Behemoths cannot see to counter attack, and Silence keeps them from using their high-level magic. In all Final Fantasy games, undead monsters are injured by curative magic, and killed by Life spells, Phoenix Downs, etc. Use this technique when fighting the Behemoths in the Deep Sea Research Center on the south-western-most corner of the world map to accumulate experience and build your characters. Note: This only works on monsters that are susceptible to Death magic. Bosses are immune to this trick, as are Ruby Dragons and Imps. Those opponents must be killed by traditional means; however the Diablos summon kills most Imps in one hit.

Tonberry GF and Odin

On the second disc go to centra ruins and make your way righto the end fight and defeat odin then go back out. save your game and walk in to the second screen, this place is littered with tonberries. fight and defeat 20 tonberries and on the 20th one a king tonberry will drop down kill him and he will join you. he has alot of abilities you will need to learn quickly

Easy ap

Fly to cactuar island and fight the cactuses each one gives you 20ap. such alot of ap for such a pussy enemy.

Island closest to hell

For quick and easy level ups fly your ragnarok to the furthest island to the left of the screen after the you have been to space. this is called the island closest to hell. this island has super monsters from the moon. equip the rare item and fight to get alot of exp and some valuable items.

Defeat True Ultimicia in ONE HIT!

On disk 3, make sure u get doom train, then go to esthar and use Tonberry kings "familliar" ability to buy all the weapon moonthlys. Once at Ultimecia castle, read the volumes in this order, August, May, July, June, March, April Then when you see the first boss that allows you to use either GF, Draw, Magic, or Item, pick GF, then use doomtrain on the next boss then a megalixer on it which will kill him instantly, then he will give you a "Sorceress Doom" Item when getting AP and EXP, choose to get Item back and cast it onTrue Ultimecia when you see her, voila, she is dead!

Want to be strong but still have the game easy? If you do then this is what you do. Keep your level low. Have your strength high by having 100 tornado junctioned to strength. To get tornado card mod Abyss Worm into windmill or beat alot of Thrustaevis'. Use Thunder/Wind Magic refine to refine windmill into thundaga. Next thing is to have your health high. To do this junction 100 Curaga to HP. After that junction 100 drain to Status Attack. Drain can be drawn from Blue Dragon Whih are in the Bika Forests.

The hardest boss in all games omega weapon. hes in ultimecia's castle the church part. to find find him is hard beating him is taking your gameplay to a whole new level. first of all station your weaker team at the spiral staircase where you can see a rope hanging down. station your other party in the courtyard. switch to taem b and pull on the rope to ring a bell you will hear a loud monster and a 1minute time limit. quickly switch to team a run through the door into the chapel and there he is. engage battle. to beat him u need squalls lion heart limit break and 10 holy wars . refine the gilgamesh card from cc king into 10 holy wars and also 100 elixirs. and alot of auras for his limit break. then cast aura on squall then a holy war and keep doing his limit braeaks. watch out for is super more omega crush which kills all party members. if you defeat him you will get 250ap and a proof of omega certificate which can be viewed in the tutorial function good luck. The best GF Eden

You will need Zell,Squall and someone else and go to where you got Buhamat and go down the tunnel using 1 piece of rpg each time until you get to the bottom soon you will see a computer.Press it and you will hear a noise.You will see Ultima Weapon in your face.Draw Eden and the 3 renesakukens and he will soon die as long as you have been using good moves in between your turn he will die.

If you have a GF who has learned "Boost," this trick will work. While your GF is about to appear on the screen, hold down "Select" and you should see a hand pointing a finger on the "Square" button and a number next to it. Keep holding "Select" and rapidly hit "Square" This will raise that number which means more damage to the enemy. But make sure you stop when an X appears over the hand. If you don't, the number will start back at the beginning. Wait for the X to go away and repeat the process. The higher the number reached, the more damage caused.

Hidden Apocalypse magic

Before fighting Ultimecia on Disc 4, Junction the Draw and Magic commands on any of your characters. When you reach Ultimecia's final form, damage her until you see her having two targets in the window. You can draw the Apocalypse spell on the lower part of Ultimecia and either cast it on her or stock it. Cast Triple on that character and cast it three times via magic. Ultimecia also draws it from herself and casts it on you.

Magic Refining

Once you learned a Refine skill (such as Ammo Refine) enter the Tutorial. Go to the Information section, then open the Abilities menu, then select Menu Abilities. Once there, you can find the Refine ability and a list of all the items or magic you can refine with that skill.

Scan and party members

Use Scan on your party members to get a little information about them. Also when you scan, press L1 + Down to zoom in to get a closer view of the person you are scanning.

Draw twice from one draw point

When you are captured in the Galbadian D-District Prison, go to floor 9. Go in the only door that will allow entry. There will be a Berserk draw point inside. You can draw from this point twice in a row. Note: This can only be done the first time.

Saving Aura magic

Aura is a magic which can be used up after so many changes of character (when Circle is pressed in the PlayStation version). To prevent this, do not start tapping Circle repeatedly until the two other characters who do not have aura have had their turns. Then, before their bar is back up, keep tapping Circle. This is a much more effective way to use Aura.

Limit Break Trick

Here's a tip for getting "The End" for Selphie's limit break. When using her slots limit break, open your PlayStation lid. This will cause everything else to freeze while you can take your time to choose "The End" for the slots. When you're done, close the PlayStation lid to resume the action.

Change the clock from white to red

Accumulate 99 hours and 99 minutes of playing time. The clock will then start over, but now be in red numbers rather than white.

Limit Break continues

When any one of your party members is badly injured (indicated by a yellow life gauge), press Circle repeatedly until the arrow on "" appears for a limit break.
