In order to have a strong team at the start of career mode follow these steps. Go in "Squad Management" located in "My FIFA 2005" and simply put all the great players on a team that you can start with in career mode (for example, NY/NJ Metrostars but not Manchester United). Once you have put all the best players on the team, save the squads. Then, go to career mode At the region selection screen, choose the region of the squad you put all the best players on. The first time you pick the region, your new five star squad will not be there, but keep selecting the region and look for your squad. If it is not, try again. It will eventually appear.

Go into the options menue and select transfers. Do this before you star a cup and you will get the same transfers as before you started but the teams will have changed.
