Sometimes the pitcher will step out and will not throw the ball. If that happens, press L1 to return to second base.
Recommended Career mode positionWhen you start Career mode, play as a switch hitting catcher. Improve your Contact (Left and Right), Power (Left and Right) and your Speed and nothing else until you are out of the minors or spring training. You are not called on a lot to throw out runners because most of the time the hitters will hit pop-ups or lay down bunts.
