Alternate Way to Unlock EX and SP Modes
Alternatively, unlock Story Mode Endings #1 and #2 for a character to unlock their EX Mode; unlock all three of a character's Story Mode Endings to unlock their SP Mode.
Select Scret stage (Boss stage)
In VS. CPU, VS 2P, Training mode. Place your cursor at the ''RANDOM'' characters (The center of the screen) and then press R2. When the match begin you'll now get ''Boss stage'' (EX I-No stage, the Midnight carnival)
Note : Only ''Midnight Carnival'' BGM is available here.
Clear pause screen
When in the pause menu in any mode, press [Selecto get a clear view without the shading or the menu. Press [Starto resume game play or [Selecto return to the pause menu.
Unlimited tension
When choosing your character, make them SP then press [Star. You will have unlimited tension throughout the match.
Stage Select for Training and VS mode
In the characters menù screen press R2 on the character's portrait where you want to battle, a yellow box will appear confirming your choice
Unlock EX Mode Characters
Every ten levels in Survival Mode, you will be challenged by an EX, Shadow Mode character. (The order is always the same). Defeat that character to unlock EX Mode for that character. To use EX Mode, hold down L2 while selecting the character.
Unlock Robo Ky, Kliff, and Justice
There are three ways to unlock these characters.
Play Survival Mode
Robo Ky appears at Level 210, Kliff at 220, and Justice at 230. Defeat them to unlock them.
Play Mission Mode
Beating 40 Missions unlocks all three characters.
Play Story Mode
Unlocking all 60 endings unlocks these three characters.
Unlock SP Mode Characters
In Survival Mode, starting at level 300 you will face Gold characters every ten levels. Defeat them to unlock SP Mode for that character. To use SP Mode, hold down L1 while selecting your character. SP + Dust is a Gold character with special powers; SP + Start is a Shadow character with
Fight as Robo Ky
Defeat Robo Ky in level 210 of survival mode. Alternately, complete all 60 story mode paths, successfully complete 40 missions, or accumulate 96 hours in training mode and normal game play.
Fight as Kliff
Defeat Kliff in level 220 of survival mode. Alternately, complete all 60 story mode paths, successfully complete 40 missions, or accumulate 96 hours in training mode and normal game play.
Fight as Justice
Defeat Justice in level 230 of survival mode. Alternately, complete all 60 story mode paths, successfully complete 40 missions, or accumulate 96 hours in training mode and normal game play.
Fight SP opponents
Hold [L1] when selecting either Arcade or M.O.M. mode.
Fight EX opponents
Hold [L2] when selecting either Arcade or M.O.M. mode.
Fight SP and EX opponents
Hold [L1] + [L2] when selecting either Arcade or M.O.M. mode.
Alternate costumes
Press [Square], [Circle], [Triangle], or [R1] before pressing X to select your character. Note: Some characters' costumes do not change with [Square].
Justice Story mode
Complete all 60 story mode paths to access Justice's story mode.
Guilty Gear mode
Complete all 60 story mode paths to unlock the "Guilty Gear Mode" option at the options screen. Alternately, accumulate over 58 hours of game play.
Stage select
Choose versus or training mode. Then, press [R2] when selecting a fighter at the opponent selection screen.
Boss stage select
Select versus CPU, versus two player, or training mode. Highlight the ''Random'' character selection at the middle of the screen and press [R2].
Dialogue select
Hold [Punch], [Kick], or [Slash] after the versus screen disappears but before the stage loads to select the dialogue set for your character.
Alternate victory pose
Hold [Punch], [Kick], or [Slash] after the victory message appears. Note: Not every character has a full set of alternate poses.
Faster credits
Hold [Punch], [Kick], or [Slash] while the credits are displayed.
Slayer haiku
Listen to Slayer's dialogue in the sound test screen and press [Square].
Infinite Tension
Unlocking Justice, Robo Ky, and Kliff the lazy way.
Place your PS2 in training mode for 4 days (96 hours total)
*Note that the 96 hours includes the play time as well, so the requirement may be less than 96 hours depending on how much time you spent on this game (in game wise, not on the starting screen/menu).
