Enter the Skill Shop while holding down the L1 and L2 buttons. Bulma will talk, but just leave, while still holding the L1 and L2 buttons. Re-enter the shop, repeat the trick over and over and your percent of your Capsules keeps increasing. This also unlocks characters for you, Breakthrough capsules, fusions, everything.

Alternate costumesWhen fighting in training or duel modes, you can change your character's costume by pressing Square so that you will turn to the question mark. Then, press X to choose a character. They will have different costumes. For example, Piccolo will look like Nail and Gohan will fight in his father's costume.
Easy damageGo play any game mode and be any characters. Wait until computer or player 2 fire at you a kamehameha, buster canon...Then you dodge the beam on left or right and fire a kamehameha or that other beams. It will always hit the computer player, or if he/she is to far of you he/she can dodge the beam either!

Complete story mode and go to Mr. Popo's shop. Put the memory cards in slots one and two. Trade the Dragon Ball from the new saved file on memory card two to Memory Card one. Remove both memory cards. Put the memory card that was in slot two into slot one. You will now have all the characters from the saved game file on memory card one.
Hints, Tips & TricksPlay ping pongIn practice mode, choose any two characters and set the Defense Ki Blast Wave to deflect-back. Jump as far away as possible and fire a Ki attack. Your opponent will deflect it back, and you can do the same. If done correctly you will play "ping pong".
Recommended controller configurationHave L1 set to Triangle and X. Keep R1 as it is. Set L2 to Square, Triangle, and X. By doing this, you can transform and do power moves and throws easier
Hidden FMV sequenceOn planet Namek, face Captain Ginyu with Vegeta. Do not fight him while he has the dizzy symbol over his head or you will take two lives and likely kill him. Instead, beat him once and make him challenge you. If done correctly, you will see an FMV sequence where Ginyu asks Vegeta to join the Ginyu Force. Vegeta will reply that he would never do that stupid pose. Also, after you take away one life and fight him again, Vegeta will tell Ginyu that the Ginyu Force has been changed to the Vegeta Special Forces and Captain Ginyu is welcome to join.
Lower opponent's Ki fasterSet the taunt (P + K + G + E) to any of the shoulder buttons (L2 recommended). Then, perform the taunt during the battle. Your opponent's Ki will drop one level. This is very useful when preventing your opponent from performing high damage moves or going Super Saiyan.
Powered downTurn Super Saiyan or Super Namek. While in this form, change to any character. Notice the character you changed from will be powered down to normal.
Defeating Kid BuuPlay as Goten or Kid Trunks. Have them be Super Saiyan and have two capsules of Kamehameha or Buster Cannon. Also get a quick fire type move such as Continuous Kamehameha (if Trunks has one). This works well because if you are tall (like Goku), you will kick over Buu's head.
Invincible charactersOn a level where three characters are playable (Goku, Gohan, and Goten), take one of the three and walk onto the same space as another one. They will power up. With the same character, walk onto the same space as the other one. They will power up again. Next, search for defensive power-ups and equip Sturdy Vest. By now, these characters' defense should be at 200 (at least). A normal attack will do half of 1 point damage.
Vegita: One Hit K.O.Use Vegeta and equip Babidi's Mind Control. When you get down to your last health bar, let the CPU hit you. Make sure you hit the ground. After you hit the ground, you will see a short FMV sequence and Babidi will appear and turn you into Majin Vegeta. You now have access to two of the best moves in the game; Atomic Blast which takes up nearly an entire health bar, and Final Explosion which is the most powerful attack. If you manage to pull off Final Explosion, you will get a one hit K.O., even if the CPU is at full health. However, the charge-up meter for Final Explosion grows incredibly slow; and unless you fill the meter up completely, the only thing you will do is destroy Vegeta. To fill up the meter faster, do not rotate the Analog-sticks. Instead, repeatedly press X. This is the only way to fill the meter without destroying yourself.
Very easy TransformationGo to options and go to controller confiq and hold down L1 and keep on changin the L1 controls until it gets to P+K+G and keep it there and then when your playin and you are ready to transform press L1 and it will transform auto. EASY

To do those hard moves (for example, Burning Slash), input the moves without pushing all the arrows (for example, (K), (K), hold [Right], (K), (K), (P)).
On the first level, where you have to get to the Dragonball before Raditz and Nappa, defeat all the Saibamen that pop up until a red one appears. Fight that one and win. You should get a new capsule for Hercule. Equip the capsule, and whenever Hercule's health drops below one sixth he will now receive a boost of energy. This may require a few attempts
Easy moneyOn the last level where you fight Kid Buu, when you start dig (press (Square)) until a question mark appears over your head. Note: You can use any character.
Silver CardBuy all red capsules that you can get at the beginning. Alternately, have a saved game from the original Dragon Ball Z: Budokai on your memory card.
Gold CardBuy all the red capsules that you can get with the Silver Card.
Black CardBuy all the red capsules that you can get with the Gold Card.
KibitoshinIn Dragon World, do not take the Potara Earrings from the Supreme Kai to fuse into Vegito. Complete the game without taking them.
Restore health during fightNote: This trick requires two players and Babidi's Spaceship. First, go to Babidi's Spaceship. When asked how many players are playing, select "2P". One of the mini-games involves locking your Ki and Health together. Select that game. You can now recharge your health during a fight. Note: Since this trick locks your Ki and Health together, you can now lose health by using any Ki-draining special attack.
WishesWhen you get all seven Dragonballs you get one wish. Do not buy Bulma's costumes. Instead, you should buy Breakthrough, Fusion, and Potera capsules. Breakthrough capsules take all seven slots but give every move for that person. Others allow secret fusions between people.
Use the following trick to get all the wishes. At the very end when you must defeat Kid Buu you will get one wish after the credits by obtaining all seven Dragon Balls. Before you defea Kid Buu, save the game and exit. Then, copy the saved game file for the game onto another memory card. Start the game again and defeat Kid Buu (again) and get another wish. When done, copy or transfer the capsule that you obtained.
To pick up a Dragon Ball after it is in the center of the Dragon Ball Radar, just select the character that is on top of the Dragon Ball and press (Square).
Dragon World: Extra move turnipsIn Dragon World mode, there are extra move turnips that allow you to move two spaces instead of one. In level 2, where Frieza starts the level is a hexagon shape, the move turnip is located at the top of the hexagon. In level 4, move downward and diagonal one space from where Goku starts and search there. In level 7, the move turnip is where your ally starts. Have them check the area. In level 9, it is where Goku starts from. Just have him search there.
Babidi's Spaceship: Easy KiliGo to Babidi's Spaceship and select one player and stage 2. Choose Vegeta and go to "Edit Skills". Take out whatever skills he currently has and replace them with Bulma's Armor and a Senzu Bean. Then, select custom Vegeta. Next, select Hercule to be your opponent. Go anywhere you want, but somewhere simple with nothing in the way like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is recommended. Then, block the entire time. You can easily last 500 seconds, and get over 1000 Kili. Repeat this until your meter is full.
Restore health during fightNote: This trick requires two players and Babidi's Spaceship. First, go to Babidi's Spaceship. When asked how many players are playing, select "2P". Easy capsulesSelect the Capsule Skill Shop by pressing X. You will usually see Bulma in the lower right side usually. When there, hold R1 + R2 + L1. This will sometimes cause the selector to highlight a capsule, but it does not matter if it does not. While still holding R1 + R2 + L1, press Triangle(2) to exit the Capsule Select window. This will randomly give you one free capsule. That means that it can still give you one that you already have, so you must repeat the trick a few more times to get a new capsule. If your percentage is very low, like in the single digits to the teens, you should see a change in the percentage immediately. If it is over 50%, it probably will not change the first time you do the trick. Thus, you must do it a few more times. This trick will give you breakthroughs, stages, moves, new outfits for bulma, etc.

When doing Fusion (Gotenks), Spirit Ball Attack (Yamcha), and Burning Slash (Trunks), pause game play when the button combo is halfway up the screen. Normally you cannot pause game play when it is totally on the screen. Memorize the button combo, then press Start again and execute it.
Even though the skill sheet tells you to use Square(2), Triangle(2), Circle to use Fusion, use Square(2), Triangle, Circle instead. It is almost impossible to do Fusion following the game's directions. If you press Triangle(2), more often than not the character will do some sort of combination kick (even though the capsule appears). This trick also works for some special/signature moves.
You can make Master Roshi move on the loading screen by rotating the right analog stick (I use left-right circles...but feel free to experiment), to increase his rotation (spinning) speed. Once he's got a good spin-on...use the left analog stick to move him left or right. I've also seen him move up and down ... probably takes different types of rotation with the analog sticks.
Power Rangers referenceWhen fighting Dr. Gero's colored Saibamen, he calls them Saiba Rangers. The colors are Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, and Pink and are a reference to the Power Rangers.
Dragon Ball Z BudokaiWhen fighting Kid Buu in Dragon World mode, when he does the vanishing drop technique it is exactly the same as the Missing Screw move that Zarbon used in the original Dragon Ball Z: Budokai.
Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball ZIf you look closely when fighting in the Budokai arena, some of the fans resemble characters from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. For example, Emperor Pilaf and Mai from the original Dragon Ball, and King Kai.
Dragon Ball GTAfter the stage where Vegeta get s taken over by Babidi, Freeza and Cell come back to life. This happens in Dragon Ball GT.

Full bar for Android 20Select Android 20 (Dr. Gero), go to training mode and select "Practice". Choose any character for the CPU. Set the Ki Blast to deflect back then use. Press Circle then use Ki Blast Absorption. You will get one bar full.
Buy everything easilyGo to the tournament and play under the "Novice" difficulty setting. Win to get 50,000. Then, go to the shop. Buy something with the money and while the money is being deducted, quickly select each one. The money will not stop deducting, allowing you to buy everything with only 50,000.
